Job Description Summary
Utilizing medical assessment, knowledge and skill, the physician assistant practices medicine under the supervision of a physician. Physician assistants work in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals and may care for patients ranging in age from teenagers to elderly as noted on age-related category and area of expertise. The Physician Assistant provides highly skilled and specialized care throughout the perioperative continuum.

Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree in a health/science-related field.

2. National certification or eligible for certification and must become certified within one year of hire.

3. Current licensure as a physician assistant in appropriate state.

4. Current certification in CPR.

1. Responsible for the direct care of patients in department with physician supervision.

2. Demonstrates surgical skills proficiently as required.

3. Provides highly skilled care appropriate to the age of the patient in collaboration with the physician in the office and to those undergoing procedures to ensure high quality and complete patient care.

4. Responsible for patient and family education to support care.

5. Serves as a catalyst for improving standards of practice; assists in the development and implementation of standards, methods, and tools to improve patient care.

6. Responsible for professional development to ensure current knowledge in area of specialization.

7. Participates in education oforientees, ancillary staff and students.

This position will work in both Interventional Pain and Podiatry offices.
