Utilizing medical assessment, knowledge and skill, the physician assistant practices medicine under the supervision of a physician. Physician assistants work in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals and may care for patients ranging in age from teenagers to elderly as noted on age-related category and area of expertise. The Physician Assistant provides highly skilled and specialized care throughout the perioperative continuum.The West Virginia University Health System, the state's largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor's degree in a health/science-related field.
2. National certification or eligible for certification and must become certified within one year of hire.
3. Current licensure as a physician assistant in appropriate state.
4. Current certification in CPR.
