DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Plant Controller is a financial leader responsible for providing accounting support to our Apertures - U.S. organization. In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing the accounting operations within the finance department and providing decision support to the leaders of designated plant(s). The position will develop monthly plant financial statements, implement and maintain monthly plant financial reviews and develop and report key performance indicators that help manage the business. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of plant financial statements by evaluating both financial and operating controls and implementing improvements. This position will be on a team of professionals providing strategic guidance and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. The role has a significant impact on the organization's financial performance and growth.

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements of designated plant(s), including income statements and balance sheets
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including the creation of journal entries and complex reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts such as inventory, inventory obsolescence and accrued expenses
  • Partner with Plant Manager(s) on all aspects of the business to drive maximum profitability, including identifying cost savings ideas
  • Assist in developing and managing the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making
  • Review and analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted targets, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Assist in the preparation of financial data for audits and coordinate with external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) and SOX requirements, including working with corporate accounting group on key accounting issues
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department
  • Partner with Materials Manager to ensure material transactions are processed timely and accurately, implement and maintain cycle counting process
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial reporting systems and processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Plant Controller, Cost Accountant or equivalent experience required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) and financial analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work as part of team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance in the manufacturing sector
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus but not mandatory
  • All Microsoft Office products proficiency required
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to distill complexity and quantities of data into actionable insights
  • Well-developed business acumen and an ability to effectively influence decision-making by drawing on analysis and insight
  • Develops a deep commercial knowledge of key business drivers and builds relationships across the enterprise, appropriately balancing business objectives and compliance
