Job Title:Strategic Projects Intern

Summary:Summer 2024 Internship Opportunity. This position will be responsible for chartering and executing a variety of projects falling under the categories Management Operating System, Manufacturing Execution System, Value Stream Mapping, and other structural productivity projects.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Management Operating System

  • Implementation of Operational Excellence Model

  • Manufacturing Execution System

  • Digitization and digital process implementation

  • Structural Productivity Projects

  • Project to assist decommissioning and budgeting/planning demolition of idle assets (Project Denver)

  • Value Stream Mapping Projects

  • Projects implementing outcomes of sitewide Value Stream Mapping

  • Able to function in industrial setting, work safely, and manage multiple projects

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Applications, emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.Strong presentation/communication skills.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, BioMechanical Engineering, or related technical field. Junior level or above preferred.

  • Basic computer and software skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Applications and a focus on Excel proficiency.

  • Possess a good work ethic and be efficient in job duties.

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Reliable transportation to work

Program Requirements

  • The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.

  • The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for 10-12 weeks between May and August.

Please note, the pay rate range may increase with higher level degrees such as Masters/PhD levels.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).

The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
